Cindy & Eddie

The idea of ‘what a wedding should be’ went straight out the window for Cindy and Eddie, who shirked tradition and killed it in the unconventional nuptials game. The Olsen may not be your typical wedding venue but for these art lovers, the quirky South Yarra gem was everything they were looking for.

According to Cindy, it took a trip to Japan for this pair to shrug off the ‘just friends’ label and they’ve been inseparable ever since, “Sometimes being away from your normal life and settings can make you think about things differently,” she explains, “and all of the things keeping us from being together just didn’t matter anymore. The rest, as they say, is history!”

As if the Art Series ceremony venue wasn’t enough, this creative couple decided to make things a little more interesting by dreaming up some interactive art installations for the reception at South Wharf’s gallery-like space, Food and Desire. A video loop showing the city of Melbourne, a balloon space inspired by NGV’s recent Andy Warhol x Ai Wei Wei exhibition, plus some pretty epic floristry by Grown Florists made this marriage celebration one to remember!

“Jai’s photos just speak to the viewer in the same way a work of art would. We had full confidence in his ability and we just let him do his thing, It was a very chilled out day and the photos just came out better than I could have hoped for.” ~ Cindy
