Gabby & Tony

Tony and Gabby first met at The Deck, St Kilda at a New Years Party in 2014, so a St Kilda wedding was a pretty special choice to celebrate their day. The day was full of sophistication and style, fun and happiness.

We started the day at the beautiful Corner room of The Prince Hotel. It’s a great place to get ready, as it’s nice and big and flooded with beautiful light. The trams roll by on their way into the city and you can glimpse calming views of the water. The ceremony was at the beautiful St Thomas Aquinas, a little bit of Europe in the cityscape of South Yarra. It was filled with the love of family, friends and lots of little ones.

I love winter weddings for many reasons, they certainly allow you a wider choice of available vendors. Sure, you risk the weather being a bit crazier but you get away from that sticky, overwhelming summer heat. To me, Melbourne winter weddings mean soft light, indoor ambience and the warmth that comes from bustling inside to share yummy food with loved ones.

After the ceremony we explored what a St Kilda Wedding can look like and adventured to the St Kilda Gardens and the character filled streets near by. I loved finding interesting pockets of light hitting us at every turn. You can read more about the interesting street portraits on a blog I recently wrote about lighting on a wedding day. Gabby and Tony had so much fun as we captured the laughs, beautiful smiles and romantic moments.

We partied into the night with roof top vibes at The Deck, St Kilda. Espresso martinis. Donuts were on the menu and dancing on the agenda. I’m so grateful for the variety of weddings I get to be a part of. From my own backyard to international destinations, I love capturing the energy of people and places.
